I downloaded a small regional airport recently probably about 1/4 the size of EGKK and it too was 6 or 7GB! Perhaps some of the issues you all see on XBox relate to add on airport size, which is sadly not listed in the marketplace before we buy them. On the XBox with memory at a premium it would be interesting to know how it handles 7GB of an airport compared to a say 1GB airport. To me some airports are a bit on the heavy size data wise or perhaps have unompitmised textures? What else would explain the size differences. I used to run it when I had my series X, but don’t now. For comparison, that’s the same size as the whole WU8 we got yesterday.Īlso for comparison EGKK ‘Ultra’ freeware on PC (very detailed) comes in at only 1.4GB.ħGB is a lot of data usage (storage, RAM, VRAM load time) for an airport. I own (and don’t use) that particular airport as it is a whopping 7GB in size! (I discovered after purchase). Does it work fine or does it crash? We need to recreate the same scenario to truly understand what this sim is doing and to acknowledge the fault within it. I recommend (if you have XSX and you’re willing to take the risk) to buy the Origami EGKK from the marketplace, and load in with an A320 at the gate. We all play this sim differently so it largely depends on us whether we experience problems or not. One guy flies the Cessna, the other flies the A320. It’s quite obvious that either the XSX isn’t optimised for MSFS, or MSFS isn’t optimised for XSX.Įither way, saying that one has performance issues and one doesn’t…just isn’t going to get Asobo to work. Simply buying a gaming rig has done the trick. It’s just an amazing flawless experience that has convinced me that it’s likely not a TV problem, nor a connectivity problem, that leads to MSFS problems on console. All with the same 25Mbps connection.Īll I’m going to say is that I’m quite happy I made the move to PC, because it is clearly much more stable and I have no performance issues when recreating scenarios that were problematic on console. I say, when loading a flight with the FBW A320 into the same parking position at Origami EGKK…not once have I ever had a CTD loading in. I recently got a gaming PC with similar hardware that gives similar performance as to XSX. But is it really related to the internet connection too? I doubt it. Regardless, I would still experience the same CTDs on console with this internet speed. I only have 25Mbps download speed, which is really enough by MSFS requirements. I really highly doubt this is really the case. What are the chances that out of the 3 TVs, MSFS would work on none of them? My take is, maybe TV issues contribute to MSFS issues…but NOT all MSFS issues are related to TV issues. I’ve tried different HDMI cables, and tried changing up different display setting on the Xbox and TVs. For those wondering, the sim would crash loading into Origami EGKK scenery with the Airbus A320Neo. All three of them seemed to recreate the same exact CTD at the same scenario at the sim. Can XSX handle that? After SU7, clearly not.Īfter months of trying, personally I’m convinced that the XSX just can’t handle the sim. A Cessna is less demanding on hardware than the A320. And flying seriously comes with a performance cost. But I didn’t buy the XSX and MSFS to do that. Sure I can hop in an A320 and muck about with it with no performance issues. In my experience, ever since SU7, trying to simulate a realistic flight by starting at gate with a detailed 3PD airport, would end in either a crash or a black screen. Firstly, are you just flying about, in a Cessna? Or in an A320? Or are you starting up at the gate at a 3PD airport with the A320? It just means you’re lucky, or you’re not demanding enough from the sim.
